JULIA ZHU is an associate of the Allan Law Group and a member of its Private Equity Practice. The focus of Ms Zhu’s practice is advising private equity sponsors in evaluating, structuring and negotiating Non-Performing Loans and other distressed asset investment and exit transactions. Ms. Zhu works closely with Alpha & Leader Group Limited and its subsidiaries in China in offering complete transaction services to international institutional investors investing in Non Performing Loan and Distressed Assets in China, including deal sourcing, due diligence and negotiation support, valuation, deal structuring, management and disposal of Non Performing Loans or other distressed assets She also advises companies on investment projects such as real estate development and establishing a business presence in China through creative investment vehicles.
Ms. Zhu is fluent in both Mandarin and English.
Experience
Prior to graduating from one of China’s most prestigious law schools and passing the Chinese Judge’s Exam in 1999 Ms. Zhu began her legal career as Judicial Clerk in the Nanjing Gulou District Court. As a Judicial Clerk Ms. Zhu was involved in judging all kinds of business, civil and criminal cases.
While subsequently employed as an associate at Jiangsu Nanjing Ma Jian Law Firm, Ms. Zhu specialized in civil litigation, corporation, foreign investment as well as mergers and acquisitions. Ms. Zhu drafted legal memorandum, court motions, appellate briefs and contracts. Ms. Zhu also advised private and public companies as well as individuals on numerous legal issues facing Chinese businesses.
As an associate of Brinkman Portillo in Los Angeles CA, Ms. Zhu provided counseling, litigation and corporate services in a range of practice areas including bankruptcy, real estate, international business, securities, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property protection, corporate finance and venture capital.
